Little Axe students eligible for GEAR UP University

NORMAN — Little Axe Public School students entering the ninth-12th grade in the fall 2014 are eligible to apply to GEAR UP University, a summer academic and leadership program available only to 24 state school districts during June 2014.

GEAR UP University is free and offered at Connors State College, Warner and Rogers State University. This week-long program introduces students to careers in science, technology, engineering and math and also trains them to be leaders in their school and community. Students stay on a college campus and experience what it takes to be a successful college student after high school.

GEAR UP University at Connors State College is titled “Wilderness Adventure.” Students may apply to attend June 1-6 or June 15-20.

GEAR UP University at Rogers State University is titled “Appreciating Real World Technology — ART” and is offered June 22-27.
