MNTC to start new maintenance technician program

NORMAN — The Moore Norman Technology Center is taking enrollment for a new course called “Building Maintenance Technician.” The first session of this Tuesday and Thursday evening class starts June 3. Class times are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and tuition is $335.

The program is designed to train students for apartment and building maintenance and repair work. They’ll gain instruction and hands-on learning in the areas of:

· Interior remodeling

· Basic safety standards and equipment operation

· Basic electric concepts

· Minor plumbing repairs

· Basic HVAC concepts

· Operation of power tools

Additionally, students can participate in a paid internship. Potential students must be 18 years old. There are no prerequisites.
