NORMAN — The Firehouse Art Center and the students and teachers at Kennedy Elementary are collaborating on a figurative language mural project, “A Bright Idea for Kennedy Elementary.”
During a six-day period, all 434 students will participate in the creation of eight 4’ x 8’ murals illustrating 16 examples of figurative language: Simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, idioms and clichés.
Following the completion of the project, the final murals will be permanently installed at Kennedy Elementary and revealed during a dedication ceremony May 22.
