NORMAN — Five student researchers visiting Norman for the summer will present topics at the July Science Cafe Norman meeting July 11 from their research projects, as well as some first-hand accounts of the recent tornadoes that blazed through central Oklahoma.
Topics to be presented include mitigation of tornado damage in new buildings, how radar and weather forecasts are getting better, and the role of citizen science in improving computer models.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave. Science Café is open to the public and free to attend. Coffee is provided by Gray Owl Coffee, and snacks are provided by the Friends of the Norman Public Library.
