NORMAN — Two Moore Norman Technology Center Automotive Service Technology (AST) students were awarded scholarships last week.
Marshall Griffith earned a $1,000 Business and Education Council Scholarship. The money may be used to purchase automotive industry tools or for continuing education. Griffith is sponsored by Justincredible Automotive.
The scholarship is made possible by the AST advisory council committee and from contributions provided by local automotive dealers and shop owners who contribute funds annually toward the foundation.
Additionally, Norman North High School senior Dalton Coker was presented the Michael Walls Scholarship by Kathy Walls, Michael’s mother.
Michael Walls was an MNTC AST graduate who died in December 1991. His family and friends established the scholarship in his honor. The $500 scholarship is awarded to a high school student who wants to pursue or continue employment in the automotive career field and possibly seek continued education.
Coker works at Discount Tire in Oklahoma City.
