Sam Noble to offer complimentary admission to teachers , families

NORMAN — The Sam Noble Museum of Natural History will provide complimentary admission to all Oklahoma pre-k through 12th-grade teachers and their families during October.

Also during Teacher Appreciation Month, the museum will offer family memberships to teachers at a discounted cost of $35 from $45. Membership to the museum provides complimentary admission for two adults and children in the family under age 18. Additionally, members receive the museum newsletter and discounts at the museum store and on educational programs and birthday parties.

Visitors can see two new exhibits at the museum. Beginning Saturday, “Masterworks of Native American Art: Selections from the Fred and Enid Brown Collection” will feature works from the Native American fine arts movement of the 20th century. Opening Oct. 19, “The Art of Sport + Play” tells a story about the universal power of sport. The free, public opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18.

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is at Timberdell Road and Chautauqua Avenue. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors 65 and up, and $3 for youth ages 6 to 17. Children ages five and under are admitted free. Discounts are available for military personnel and their immediate families.
