The Norman Transcript

The Cleveland County Genealogical Society will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the CSBI classroom at 12th Avenue NE and E. Main Street, in Norman. Guest speaker will be Dr. Charles Anderson who will discuss his experience in learning about the history of his house on Chautauqua Avenue. Use the south entrance from parking lot Number 4. Visitors are welcome.

Norman Women's Connection

All area women are invited to join Norman Women's Connection for a luncheon noon Jan. 15 at 809 Wall St.

The theme for this luncheon is "Wellness '08." Virginia Geurkink, a certified personal trainer, will focus on "wellness for the body" by giving tips for getting in shape this year. Billie Segler will provide insight about "wellness for the soul and spirit." She will share how she learned to find joy in the midst of sadness and tragedy.

Cost of the program is $7.50 inclusive. Reservations are required, and may be made by calling Janet at 364-6445, or Gwen at 364-4034, or by e-mail to normanwomenconnection@yahoo.com. Make or cancel reservations no later than Sunday.

Norman AARP Chapter 1064

Norman AARP Chapter 1064 will meet 10 a.m. Saturday at the Senior Center, 329 S. Peters Ave. Ann Hastings will perform her Country Comedy Act, and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Norman Black Beaver chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 235 W. Duffy St. Diane Miller will present the program on "Quilts of Valor for Troops Overseas."
