Women's Foundation of Oklahoma announces grant guidelines

The Women's Foundation of Oklahoma is currently accepting grant applications from organizations across the state that focus on economic self-sufficiency for women and providing brighter futures for girls.
Since 2004, the Women's Foundation of Oklahoma has invested nearly $220,000 through grants to various organizations including 2007 grantees: Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County, New Hope Camp, Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education on behalf of SMART ? Single Mothers Academic Resource Team, Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma, and Rose State College Foundation.
These grants have ranged from $1,000 to $15,000 with an average grant of $7,600.
The grantmaking focus areas for the 2008 grants are promoting systems change and providing specialized direct services. Application deadline is April 18.
Advisory Board members include Chair Joe Anna Hibler, Weatherford; Merle Chambers, Denver; Kathie Coyle, Tulsa; Sandy Ingraham, Lincoln County; Melinda Johnson, Oklahoma City; Hilary Kitz, Tulsa; Prudence Little, Madill; Anne Morgan, Norman; Marilyn Murrell, Arcadia; Sharon Neuwald, Oklahoma City; and Claudia San Pedro, Oklahoma City.
