South Canadian-Crosstimbers Corral of Westerners International
The South Canadian-Crosstimbers Corral of Westerners International meets 7 p.m. Monday at the Charles Russell Center, the old Faculty Club, on the University of Oklahoma campus.
Historian Pendleton Woods of Oklahoma City will discuss the dawn of statehood in Oklahoma.

VFW Post 4890
District 10 convention will be May 10 in Norman at the Legion Hall and Post 4890 will be the host with STTE Commander John Petras. Members will be asked for their help in organizing the meeting and a lunch to be served.

Cross Timbers Rotary Club

Conservancy
Norman Area Land Conservancy will have its annual meeting 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Sarkeys' Annex, at the corner of Main Street and Ponca Avenue. A by-laws change will be voted on and new board members presented. For more information, visit www.nalcok.org.

Unity in Norman
Unity in Norman will hold classes on Eckhart Tolle's book "A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life's Purpose," 7 p.m. Wednesdays in March at the church, 3001 S. Berry Road and Highway 9.

Sooner AMBUCS
Sooner AMBUCS meets 7-8 a.m. Tuesdays at Prairie Kitchen, 2520 W. Main St. AMBUCS is a diverse group of men and women dedicated to creating mobility and independence for children and adults with disabilities. Low Vision Support Group

Ross Health Care
A grief support group open to the community through April 1 will meet 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at 623 N. Porter Ave., Suite 200. For more information, call Rob or Becky 321-3262. It is not necessary to attend every group.

Daytime Grief Support Group
Heartland Hospice and Rambling Oaks Assisted Living are partnering together to offer a daytime grief support group 3 p.m. Thursdays at Rambling Oaks, 1060 Rambling Oaks Dr.
The group will be led Heartland Hospice Bereavement Coordinator Shae Keen and Chaplain Harry Smith.

Senior Citizens' Center
The Senior Citizens' Center will offer a spring trip to Washington, D.C. April 14-21 that will include many historical sites such as Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial and the Smithsonian Museum. They also will tour the new World War II Memorial as well as the Vietnam Memorial.

Thunderbird State Park

Embroiderers' Guild
of America
Anyone interested in embroidery in any of its many forms is invited to become a part of the Norman Chapter of The Embroiderers' Guild of America. The evening group meets 7 to 9 p.m. the second Monday and the day group meets 1 to 3 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are in Room 401 at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church. Norman Area Iris Society
The Norman Area Iris Society meets 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month at the Reaves Center in Reaves Park. Anyone interested in iris cultivation or gardening may attend.

Sweet Adelines International

NAMI
National Alliance on Mental Illness of Cleveland County, a United Way member agency support groups are offered for families of individuals with a mental illness and meet 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.
Educational sessions are open to anyone who would like more information on mental illness and health issues and are offered 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.
All meetings are at 107 State Drive, Edsel Ford House, just off Main Street on the grounds off Griffin Memorial Hospital. All meetings are free and no reservation is required.

Genealogical Society
The Cleveland County Genealogical Society will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday in the CSBI classroom, 12th Avenue NE and East Main Street. Use the south entrance from parking lot number 4. Donna Waddle, director of the LDS Family History Center in Oklahoma City will discuss "The Changing Face of LDS Family History Centers and the LDS Web site." Anyone interested is welcome.

Norman Parents Helping Parents
Norman Parents Helping Parents (www.parentshelpingparents.info) is spearheading a six-part series devoted to educating parents and the community about the issues surrounding adolescent alcohol and drug abuse. The upcoming series finale (sixth session) focuses on hope and recovery. Mike Boss, CADC, LCDC of Oklahoma Outreach will bring a panel of teens and young adults in recovery who will share their journeys.
