Girl Scouts take on a mystery at CSI Camp

The Norman Transcript

Transcript Staff

Girls have the chance to learn how to become the next CSI detectives at this year's summer day camp offered through Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma. From dusting for fingerprints and reading toxicology reports, and analyzing anthropology, this camp lets girls flex their detective muscles and test their new knowledge to solve a camp mystery.

GS-West will host CSI Day Camp at camp Cookieland in June. Girls will also have the opportunity to participate in traditional camp activities that includes an overnight stay on Thursday where they will get to cook over a camp fire.

The first session will be held June 2-6 and is for girls ages 11 and up. The second session will be held June 23 to 27 and is for girls ages 14 and up. The cost for the CSI session is $100 for Girl Scouts. An additional $10 fee will be charged for girls who are not Girl Scouts.

Parents are invited to join the campers on Friday afternoon to watch the skills the girls have learned at camp.

To register for CSI Camp or any other Girl Scout summer camp experience, visit Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma, Inc. online at www.gswestok.org or the council office at 121 NE 50th St., Oklahoma City for a registration form.

For more information on Girl Scouts-Western Oklahoma, including how to join for the upcoming membership year and how to be a local volunteer, call 800-698-0022 or visit www.gswestok.org.
