Published August 13, 2008 10:44 pm - Two young ladies with very different backgrounds, who both became Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Revolution during the early history of Oklahoma, have been brought to life as dolls. The dolls, offered by the Oklahoma DAR Junior Membership committee, are Miss Indian Territory Addie Hibbs and Miss Oklahoma Territory Laura Baker. The dolls, offered by the Oklahoma DAR Junior Membership committee, are Miss Indian Territory Addie Hibbs and Miss Oklahoma Territory Laura Baker. The dolls represent the marriage of the two territories that were combined to make the 46th state. The dolls will be raffled and the money raised will pay the salary of two school nurses based in DAR schools in the Appalachian area. This is the only health care some of these children ever receive, said Gina McCasland, with DAR. The dolls are 18 inches and come with a wardrobe and a cabinet in addition to a storybook that tells their story. Chances are $5 each or 5 for $20. For more information call Mary Duffe at 348-0293.
