Beneath the full sized model of the Winnie Mae, the Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Revolution enticed prospects and visitors to their tables at the Ancestor Fair recently held at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.
DAR State Regent Mary Duffe and second vice regent Pat McFall attended in 1990s costumes. Their table was covered with many DAR items, such as the American Spirit magazine, the latest edition of the DAR Christmas ornament for sale, a photo album showing the two Miss Twin Territories dolls to be raffled off and a display of the many DAR pins.
The Col. John Starke Sr. Chapter's table had an Indian theme, while the Children of the American Revolution's table was manned by Honorary State Regent Joyce Hill.
The Ponca City Chapter displayed a story board created by member Karen Smith Hunter about the genealogy of one of Oklahoma's early immigrating families. The hall was filled with members of lineage societies and the sound of Scottish bagpipes.
