Cleveland County 4-Hers are big winners at annual awards banquet

The William J. Danforth award went to Aerial Smith and Coy Pfeiffer, both of Lexington 4-H. Julie Bragg of Clover People Sr. was awarded the Patsy Hansmeyer Memorial award which was sponsored by the Mappes family.

The Jewell Griffin Memorial award, sponsored by Judy McKown, recognizes a senior 4-Her who wins first place on their state record book. Aerial Smith was awarded this honor for her swine book.

The Dick Griffin Memorial Award is sponsored by Vernon and Rhonda Chapman McKown and recognizes county 4-Hers who place first with their level II state record books. This year's winner was Kylie Stowers for her Leadership record book.

Julie Bragg of Norman won the Blue award for her senior record book, sponsored by Vernon and Rhonda Chapman McKown.

Jerry and Elizabeth Loeffelholz sponsored the 4-H Volunteer of the Year award which was given to Sue Armstrong of the Heart 4-H Club.

The Lifetime Volunteer award for Cleveland County sponsored by Sam and Glenna Gibson Ott was presented to Marilyn Marshall for her many years of 4-H service.

Junior Record Book awards, sponsored by Rhonda and Neal Hall and Rusty and Randy Heitz, were given to first year, Jacob Hyde and Susanna Magruder; second year, Patrick Schrank and Jessica Morrow; third year, Julia Bagley and Erin McGinnis; fourth year, Wooby Armstrong and Sarah Hake; and fifth year, Lauren Schrank.

The New Hope Home and Community Education club sponsored a $50 savings bond and certificate which was awarded to Outstanding Junior members Patrick Schrank, Wooby Armstrong, Julia Bagley and Lauren Schrank.

The Key Club award was given to Kristi Armstrong. Coy Pfeiffer, Lexington 4-H, received a pair of Justin Ropers boots for his Sr. Record Book by Lynn and Bonita Laske. Cleveland County Farm Bureau agent Darrell David sponsored the Senior Achievement award and the recipients were Haley Armstrong and Emily Morrow.

Kristi Armstrong and Kylie Stowers were the recipients of the Hopewell Home and Community Education club's Senior Citizenship and Leadership awards.

Kristi Armstrong and Aerial Smith, both of Lexington 4-H, received the 2007-2008 Hall of Fame award.
