NORMAN — The Annual Benefit Bean Dinner, sponsored by the Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) of First Christian Church of Norman, served almost 900 people at this year’s dinner on Jan. 28. Funds raised from the dinner were $6,500 for the Medication Fund at Variety Care Norman (formerly Health for Friends).
“Variety Care offers affordable health care to those in our area who may not have health insurance or are limited in their ability to pay for health care. The Medication Fund allows patients to purchase their medications at a significantly reduced rate,” Gary Hardwick, associate minister of First Christian Church Norman said. “With this year’s success, the Bean Dinner has raised over $115,000 over the past 24 years. The men of First Christian are grateful for the support of individuals, agencies and businesses that support this community-wide event. We hope to see you next year as we celebrate our 25th year.”
