NORMAN — The Norman Public Arts Board is seeking designs for Phase 2 of the Artist Designed Bike Racks Project. The second phase of the project will place artist designed bike racks in downtown Norman’s arts district.
The Public Arts Board will be responsible for the fabrication and installation of winning designs. The bike racks should accommodate a minimum of two bicycles and represent Norman’s cultural identity. The competition is open to all Oklahoma artists.
A design review board will work with the Public Arts Board and be responsible for selecting winning designs.
The submission deadline is Oct. 11. Winners will be notified on Nov. 15. The winning proposals will be installed in spring 2014.
Applications and the design worksheet are available for download or for pickup at MAINSITE Contemporary Art, 122 E. Main St. in Norman.
