Music Mall Marathon to begin Friday

NORMAN — The Norman Area Music Teachers Association will host its 22 annual Music Mall Marathon beginning Friday.

The event is sponsored by NAMTA, Gilliam’s Music and Sooner Mall. This year there are 20 different music studios that will perform along with a showcase for advanced high school students, and vignette performances featuring several of the teachers. There will be piano, violin and flute music from 5:30 Friday until close of Sooner Mall at 6 p.m. on March 3.

The schedule includes:


· 5:30 p.m.: Pullin Piano Studio

· 7:30 p.m.: High School Showcase


· 9:45 a.m.: Dan Miller Piano Studio

· 10 a.m.: Norman Kindermusik and Piano

· 11 a.m.: Sylvia Ryan Piano Studio

· 12:30 p.m.: Ken Teel Piano Studio

· 1:15 p.m.: Amy Butler Piano Studio

· 2:30 p.m. Shirley Johnson Piano Studio

· 3:30 p.m.: Winslow School of Music

· 4 p.m.: Kimberly Jensen Piano Studio

· 5 p.m. Jennifer Tripi Piano Studio

· 6:30 p.m.: Sewell Studios

· 7:30 p.m.: Lily Wong Piano Studio

March 3

· 12:45 p.m.: Acone & Fint Piano Studios

· 1 p.m.: Sewell Studios

· 2 p.m.: Candace Hawkins Studio

· 2:30 p.m.: Alice Harrell Piano Studio

· 3:15 p.m.: Shirley Johnson Piano Studio

· 3:45 p.m.: Janet Romanishin Flute Studio
