NORMAN — Camp Fire Heart Oklahoma youth start off the new year a little sweeter. Camp Fire youth members began the annual candy sale on Friday.

Customers can donate money to send candy to members of the armed forces, both regionally and overseas. Last year, Camp Fire donated several boxes of candy to members of the armed services, including those at Fort Sill.

“The soldiers at Fort Sill were thrilled with the candy,” said Debbie Laukat, a Blue Star Mothers volunteer. “But they had to run laps after eating it all.”

Customers may purchase candy for themselves or donate candy to our armed forces through several designated site sales at retail locations. Candy for sale includes Almond Roca, Smoothå Mint Patties, Caramel Almond Clusters, Trail Mix and P’Nuttles. Additionally, Caramel Whirls, Chocolate Covered Almonds and Milk Chocolate Almond Bars will be for sale. Candy ranges from $2 to $5. The sale ends Feb. 18.

By selling candy, youth members can earn credit toward Camp Fire Heart of Oklahoma’s summer camp at Camp DaKaNi.

Site sale information will be posted and updated on Facebook throughout the sale. To view the listings and updates, like the Camp Fire Heart of Oklahoma Facebook page.

For more information about the candy sale or how to purchase candy, call Area Director Elizabeth Logan at 254-2086 or email Elizabeth@campfireusa-ok.org.
