NORMAN — The Assistance League of Norman, a nonprofit philanthropic volunteer group dedicated to creating and funding service projects that enrich the lives of the Norman community, is hosting its annual gala fundraiser 6:30 p.m. Friday at Riverwind Casino in the Showplace Theatre. The gala is the major fundraising activity for the Assistance League of Norman.
This year marks the 38th, black-tie optional gala. Local auctioneer Gene McKown will lead off the evening.
“We are so delighted to have Gene as our auctioneer. There is no one else who can make the magic happen like he does,” said Jennifer Austin, gala chair.
A Kevin Durant autographed jersey, a fur coat from Koslow’s, six vacation homes, and a Bellari ring from Lewis Jewelers are a sample of the items available at the live and silent auctions.
The auction committee will offer Lady Luck, a chance card game, and the Sweet Treat Jackpot that includes a keepsake.
“We are excited for an evening of entertainment, dining and tradition,” said Kathy Nees, auction chair.
Invitations are available by contacting President Tracy Bates, Austin, calling the chapter house at 321-9400 or visiting www.norman.assistanceleague.org.
