NORMAN — The Center for Children and Families will offer two therapeutic clinics presented by The Theraplay Institute.
A four-day play therapy training course will be hosted today through Saturday at Wildwood Community Church in Norman to a sold-out number of therapeutic professionals.
Space is still available for a second training specifically for parents of adopted and foster children to teach therapeutic parenting techniques from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
Theraplay is a training program that works to heal children and families who have faced adverse situations through strengthening the parent-child relationship in a play therapy setting. Focused on foster and adoptive families, it provides therapists with tools to increase engagement, nurturing and attachment between parents and their children.
Families wishing to participate in the adoptive parenting clinic can register at theraplay.org, call 1-800-884-7914 or email Janet@theraplay.org. The cost is $95 for one participant or $150 for two.
