NORMAN — Staff from the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services will be available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the disaster relief location at Little Axe Elementary School, 2000 168th Ave. NE in Norman, to take applications from people whose disabilities are barriers to employment.

DRS’ Vocational Rehabilitation and Visual Services divisions provide career counseling, medical and psychological services, training, job placement assistance and other employment-related services as part of a plan to help people get or keep jobs.

“Many people with disabilities have lost their place of employment or now have disabilities that were not present before the recent severe weather,” said Jan Hatch, Vocational Rehabilitation programs manager. “DRS services can help qualified applicants put their lives back together again.”

DRS staff will continue to take applications at local offices around the state.

For more information, visit the temporary DRS location at Gordon Cooper Technology Center or call 800-487-4042 to be transferred to the DRS office nearest to you.
