County OHCE does well at meet

NORMAN — Oklahoma Home and Community Education groups convened for their 2013 state meeting at Embassy Suites in Norman.

More than 300 OHCE members attended from all across the state. Thirty-three members from Cleveland County attended the 78th annual OHCE meeting July 14-16.

Cleveland County members were recognized by the OHCE state board for having the largest percentage present at the conference in the large group category

Also, Phyllis Embrey, of the Robinson OHCE group, won first on her life essay in which she talked about the values she learned when picking okra in the summer as a high school girl.

The Robinson OHCE group also won first place for their year’s work in resource management, and the Night Owls group placed third with their leadership work.
