NORMAN — American Legion Post 88 will host a dinner at 6:30 p.m. July 27 at the Legion Hut for Korean War veterans for their service between June 1950 and July 17, 1953.
Norman had several of the units called to active duty with the 45th Infantry Division, which trained at Ft. Polk, La., and Japan before being ordered to the combat lines in Korea. Many of Norman’s men were activated with other units of the 45th or Reserves, and many were drafted to serve in many military capacities in all the Armed Services.
Previous honor dinners have recognized achievement and veterans of WWII and Vietnam.
Call Post Commander Ernie Martin at 255-4949, Bob Culbert at 306-7111 or Don Schulenberg at 685-7813 for reservations for veterans, spouses or family by Monday.
Post 88, 710 E. Main St., is open Wednesday mornings, but a message may be left on the Post answering machine at 366-7575 at any time.
