NORMAN — Austin Blaylock, 14, son of John and Gail Blaylock, and a member of Boy Scout Troop 217 sponsored by St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, will be honored during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor at 2 p.m. Oct. 6 at Alameda Church of Christ.
Blaylock’s Eagle Scout project was planting a wall of 115 pyracanthe plants, as well as installing an irrigation system for the plants at Bridges.
Blaylock has earned 25 merit badges and has been awarded the Medal of Merit and Order of the Arrow. He has participated in 26 camping expeditions and has logged 237 hours of community service.
He has participated in numerous patrol and troop campouts including trips to Diamond H Scout Ranch, Red Rock Canyon, Slippery Falls Scout Ranch, Camp Hale and Black Mesa.
