NORMAN — The Norman Public Library heads into the New Year with a revamp of its schedule.

“It’s all the great programming you’re used to at new and improved times,” branch manager Leslie Tabor said.

Programs will be geared to age groups, including story times for children up to preschool age five times a week.

Also continuing is the Wednesday Afterschool Special, with activities geared to children kindergarten to second grade.

Also continuing are the music and story programs Rhythm Babies, for children up to 3, and Library Music Connection, for ages 3 to 7, on Friday mornings.

Creative Space is a new weekly offering on Thursday evenings, for children in third through fifth grades.

The schedule also will feature additional special events.

“These programs are all a creative outlet for children at a young age, learning from experts who are tailoring what they’re doing to your kid,” Tabor said.

Programming also will follow themes for different sections of the year, beginning with a winter and early spring run from January to April.

Programs take a month off in May to gear up for the Summer Reading Program stretch before turning toward the start of school, fall and winter again.
