NORMAN — Council to meet at new school building
Due to construction in the council chambers, the Norman City Council will meet Tuesday and Feb. 25 at the Norman Public School Board Room, 131 S. Flood Ave. There will be no web streaming from that location and no live broadcast on Channel 20.
The meetings will be recorded for playback on Channel 20 beginning Wednesday morning, following the Tuesday evening council meeting at 8 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. and will continue to play until the next meeting.
The city council approved a contract with Cory’s Audio Visual Services LLC for audio/video replacement in the council chambers, study session room and multi-purpose room.
The project includes replacement of the entire audio, video and recording equipment currently servicing those rooms and the lobby area of the municipal building.
The project will address the poor video and audio quality people are experiencing when watching the city council and planning commission meetings on Channel 20. The project is expected to be completed in March.

Vote Tuesday and don’t forget ID
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday for the annual school elections. Five school districts will be voting in this election: Norman Public Schools, Noble Public Schools, McLoud Public Schools, Midwest City-Del City Public Schools and Mustang Public Schools.
Cleveland County Election Board Secretary Bryant Rains reminds voters to bring voter ID, an Oklahoma driver’s license or federal identification to the polls.
“Your voter ID card (issued by the county election board) can help precinct officials find your name in the Precinct Registry, and it may help them resolve the problem if you are not listed in the registry for some reason,” Rains said.
