Norman Youth Council applications

Norman is accepting applications for the 2014 Norman Youth Council — an advisory body composed of local youth that provides input to the city council, city boards, city commissions and other community organizations regarding issues that are important to youth in Norman.

Applications are due by April 30, and the class is open to all high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who live within city limits.

In addition to providing a completed application, applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from adults familiar with their leadership skills and service to the community.

Successful applicants will serve a term starting in September through May and are limited to two terms of service.

The council will meet monthly and will have the opportunity to receive briefings from city staff about current programs, tour city facilities and learn more about the city’s daily operations.

To learn more about the Youth Council and download an application, visit normanok.gov and click on the “How do I” tab at the top of the homepage or contact Denise Johnson at 366-5422 or denise.johnson@normanok.gov.
