NORMAN — Norman City Council members reached a consensus this week on a proposed wastewater rate increase. If approved, the average water user’s bill will go up $3.74.
The base rate will see a $1.10 per month increasing from $3.90 to $5, and the commodity rate will increase by $1.10 per 1,000 gallons used. Additionally, $5.7 million in Sewer Sales Tax funds will be used to keep the bond term to 20 years and reduce the amount of interest paid.
If the proposal receives formal approval, it will come before voters Nov. 12.
