NORMAN — Bridge closed overnight
Beginning today, the Main Street bridge over Interstate 35 will closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to allow installation of the large support structure in the middle of the bridge.
When complete, there will be intermittent lane closures to allow the contractor to install signal heads. Motorists are encouraged to use Lindsey Street or Robinson Street.
Starting at 8 a.m. today through 8 a.m. Monday, the northbound outside lane of 24th Avenue Northwest, just south of Conference Drive, and the eastbound outside lane of Conference Drive, just east of 24th Avenue, will be diverted to the inside lanes, respectively.
A public meeting and open house to present initial project information and receive public input on the upcoming Lindsey Street project has been rescheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Main Conference Room at Sooner Legends Inn and Suites at 1200 24th Ave. SW.
The meeting will include a presentation about proposed improvements to West Lindsey Street. The project consists of widening Lindsey from 24th Avenue Southwest to Berry Road from three lanes to a divided four-lane roadway, replacing the Imhoff Creek Bridge and addressing storm water flooding.
Residents who would like to attend but find it difficult to because of an architectural barrier or special need, call 366-5424 or email John.Clink@NormanOk.gov.
