Traffic signal controller cabinet to be replaced

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — The Traffic Control Division will replace the traffic signal controller cabinet at the 24th Avenue Southwest intersection with Brooks Street today, weather permitting.

After 9 a.m., the intersection will be controlled by a four-way stop sign. Signal operation should be restored before noon.

Norman has an annual program to replace and upgrade three traffic signal controllers each year, which is intended to improve the reliability, technology and maintainability of the city’s system of more than 130 traffic signals. This cabinet replacement is the second cabinet from the FYE 2014 cabinet replacement program.

Questions should be directed to David Riesland, city traffic engineer, at 329-0528.
