NORMAN — Cleveland County will purchase a $128,066 monitoring system to run the heat and air systems in the county office building.

Commissioners, on Monday, approved the purchase from Northwest Controls. Commissioner Darry Stacy said the new monitoring device replaces a similar unit with better technology.

“It will be a lot more efficient,” he said.

Commissioners opened bids ranging from $18,900 to $46,500 to install heaters in new District 2 buildings. The board also opened and tabled bids on a 14-foot dump body for District 2.

Commissioner Rusty Sullivan said it appeared the county missed the worst of the winter storm this weekend.

The courthouse closed early Friday.

Commissioners commended their road crews for after-hours work making sure roads were clear and sanded.

“We don’t always realize that when were asleep, they’re out there working,” Stacy said.
