Noble library hosts May events

NORMAN —  The Noble Public Library, 204 N. 5th St., has announced activities for May. Family Story time kicks off the month at 10:30 a.m. on May 4.

The theme is growing things, which ties in with the April Showers Bring May Flowers event the same day starting at 10 a.m. Patrons of all ages are invited to attend.

Girls of all ages are invited to a special evening at Girls Night Out: May Flair with a Twist, at 6 p.m., May 10, at the library. The evening will feature a variety of activities, including entertainment with the Arthurian Order of Avalon and a chance to learn medieval dances including the Maypole dance, as well as some contemporary line dances. Queen of the May Flair will be crowned for the evening, and guests also can have their picture taken with her. Light refreshments will be provided.

The event is free but space is limited, so registration is required in advance to take part.

The Noble Public Library’s Homeschool Book Club will review and discuss “My Side of the Mountain” by Jean Craighead George at its next meeting, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday in the Coman Culbert Community Room of the library.

The library and Norman Homeschool Association are partners on the Homeschool Book Club, which is geared to ages 5 to 10, although younger siblings are invited as well.

Registration is not required to take part.

The Noble Readers Book Discussion Group will meet at 1 p.m. May 9 and Business for Breakfast will meet at 8:15 a.m. May 28. The PLS Board will meet at 6:3o p.m. May 28 in Noble.

The library will be closed all day May 26 and 27 for the Memorial Day holiday.
