NORMAN — Teams of middle school and high school students from Norman will participate in regional competitions next week to determine which teams will represent Oklahoma in the National Finals of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science’s National Science Bowl.
Alcott Middle School and NPS Indian Education will compete in the middle school regional competition. Teams from Norman High School and Norman North High School will compete in the high school regional competition.
The middle school regional competition will be Friday and the high school regional competition will be March 8. Both competitions will be at Redland Community College in El Reno.
During the competitions, teams of four students will face off against one another in a fast-paced, question and answer format. They will be challenged to solve mathematical problems and tested on their knowledge of a wide range of disciplines including astronomy, biology, earth science and physics.
Regional winners will head to the National Finals in Washington D.C., April 24-28.
