NORMAN — On Friday OG&E closed Cedar Lane Road between US-77 and 36th Avenue SE to relocate their utility poles for the Cedar Lane Road Project.
Signs will be placed to detour the traveling public around the construction using Post Oak Road. Access will be provided to local property owners within the closure area. The closure will be between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the relocation should be complete by Wednesday.
The Cedar Lane Road Widening Project is a $9.8 million street improvement project. When the project is complete, the roadway will be widened to four lanes with 5-foot bike lanes adjacent to the curb, the intersection of 12th Avenue SE and Cedar Lane Road will be widened and signalized with dual left turn lanes from 12th Avenue SE onto eastbound Cedar Lane Road.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will administer the construction of the project on behalf of the City of Norman. The anticipated start date is late June.
