NORMAN — A pulled pork dinner with all the fixin’s and dessert is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. April 13 at the Curtis Inge Middle School cafeteria, 1201 N. 8th St. in Noble.
The event, sponsored by Hampton Noble Masonic Lodge #291 and Noble High’s FFA group, will benefit the FFA booster club. Tickets are $5 at the door.
According to the Noble High School website, FFA is the student organization of the Agricultural Education Program, which provides many outside-of-the-classroom opportunities for students including livestock shows, public speaking, career development events, conventions, camps, conferences and other community chapter actives.
Hampton Noble Masonic Lodge will apply for matching funds through the Masonic Charities Matching Fund Program.
“The Hampton Noble Lodge loves to do fundraisers to help underprivileged kids so they don’t feel discriminated against — they should have every opportunity all kids have,” Kevin Huddleston, lodge member, said. “And being a member of the agricultural community and growing up in FFA and 4-H, I like it that we’re helping to raise money for the ag department to help them. If we can raise money for the kids, we’re going to do it.”
Huddleston said the fundraiser will help kids who might otherwise not be able to afford it go to ag camp and other functions of the 4-H and ag programs.
