The 16-year-old was then taken to the emergency room and her injuries were photographed by police. The affidavit stated she had severe hemorrhages in both eyes, a possible broken nose, severe facial bruising and bruises on her neck consistent with being strangled.
During Harris’ interview with police, the 17-year-old denied forcing the victim out of school and to his car and assaulting her. The affidavit stated that he noticed the victim’s injuries to her eyes, face and neck as he was planning to take her home but did not know how she sustained those injuries.
A preliminary hearing conference is scheduled by agreement for further negotiation for a youthful offender study and psych evaluation. The case is assigned to District Judge Tracy Schumacher.
