NORMAN — Monday was a lot like Christmas morning at Madison Elementary as boxes of school supplies were donated to the school by Office Max, 620 Ed Noble Parkway.
Office Max selected Madison Elementary for its A Day Made Better Donation.
Sarah Adams, a fourth-grade teacher, was awarded for her work at Madison. Adams received a new teacher’s chair, a Kindle Fire, a Canon Powershot camera and about $1,000 worth of classroom supplies.
The rest of the school was given overstocked school supplies including markers, notebooks, copy paper and binders worth more than $500.
Principal Pam Charlson said the donation would help teachers get the tools necessary to facilitate learning in the classroom.
“Marlon Geddis, the store manager, told me that Office Max wanted to give back to the teachers because they know how much of their own money teachers spend on school supplies,” Charlson said.
