NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma School of Music’s Trombone Choir will perform “Basically British Blow” at 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Sharp Hall, 500 W. Boyd St.

Irvin L. Wagner, David Ross Boyd and Regents Professor of Music, will conduct. The concert is open to the public.

 The concert will include many British compositions for trombone choir as well as British Bass Trombonist Jonathan Warburton. Warburton is one of England’s most versatile and busiest bass trombonists on the music scene today.

 In addition to accompanying Warburton, the choir will perform two compositions by the legendary British composer Gordon Jacob, as well as a work by Simon Wills, a contemporary British composer.

The Trombone Choir was organized in 1969 by Wagner. The choir has two recent CDs available.
