NORMAN — Sidewalk closure
Beginning Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon, the parking stalls and sidewalk in front of 315 White St. will be closed for demolition of the existing store front. K & M Wrecking LLC is the contractor. Pedestrian and traffic control will be provided.
With recent approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for individual assistance for Cleveland County residents affected by the August wildfires, the Disaster Recovery Center is open at the 12 Corners Baptist Church, 15601 Etowah Road in Noble.
Disaster Recovery Center hours of operation are:
· Today-Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
· Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.
· Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
· Oct. 13: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
· Oct. 15-19: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
· Oct. 20: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
· Oct. 22-24: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Residents wanting to apply for assistance must call the FEMA hotline,1-800-621-3362, to register before the recovery center will process applications. If someone has no means to call, a phone bank has been established at the 12 Corners Baptist Church.
“Applicants should bring as much information as they can to the center,” said David Grizzle, Norman’s emergency management coordinator.
If residents do not have actual documents, they can call Catholic Charities at 523-3028 for assistance in document recovery.
