Sprouts Farmers Market opening

NORMAN — Sprouts Farmers Market, one of the country’s leading natural foods grocers celebrates 10 years of delivering fresh, healthy food at a great value by opening a new market in Norman. The new location will open at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. This new store is located at 555 W. Main at the former site of Hobby Lobby in the Downtown Shopping Center.

Sprouts ‘Team Norman’ will host Sprouts Sprint — the natural grocers version of the old game show Supermarket Sweep. Two local residents will be chosen to compete through an online contest to find Sprouts’ biggest fan in Norman and a chance to win a $1,000 in free groceries.

Sprouts is one of the larger grocers in the Western United States, with 2012 annual revenues approaching $2 billion. Sprouts now operates more than 150 stores, with 15 more scheduled to open this year, and employs nearly 12,000 people. Continuing with their aggressive growth plans, more new locations are planned for 2014.

In honor of the newest member of the Sprouts family, several special events are planned for grand opening week.

Sprouts Farmers Market, founded in 2002, is now one of the largest and fastest growing natural foods retailers in the country, with more than 150 stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
