Moore couple charged with kidnapping

NORMAN — A Moore couple was charged with kidnapping Monday in Cleveland County District Court after they allegedly kept two people against their will.

Michael Keith Gilleland, 36, and Sara Angela Pool, 27, allegedly held the two people against their will at their Moore residence Friday to question them about a burglary that had occurred earlier at their home, according to the affidavit filed with charges.

The charges filed show that the victims lived together in the same neighborhood as Gilleland and Pool.

The couple kept the two people at their residence in the garage for two to three hours while questioning them, the affidavit stated.

According to the Moore police, the victims said Gilleland made it known that he had a pistol in possession during the incident, showed it to them and racked the slide.

The victims also said Pool made it known she had a pistol in possession, and one of the victims advised that Pool pointed the pistol at her, the affidavit stated. When police interviewed Pool, she said her boyfriend had a gun during the incident but denied possession of the pistol herself.

During Gilleland’s interview with police, he admitted to possessing a pistol but said he never told the victims they couldn’t leave, nor did he point the pistol at the victims. Gilleland speculated that his girlfriend may have told them they couldn’t leave, according to the affidavit.

Pool admitted to holding the victims inside the garage against their will during her interview with police.

“Victims advised they were in fear for their lives and did not feel free to leave,” the affidavit stated.

Gilleland and Pool’s bonds were set at $5,000 each per Judge Lucas, according to the affidavit.
