NORMAN — The Norman Board of Education announced tonight that it is hiring Dr. Peter Liesenfeld as principal of Norman North High School and Annette Williams as principal of Madison Elementary.
Liesenfeld has led Longfellow Middle School since 2011, and Williams has led Coolidge Elementary in the Oklahoma City Public Schools, also since 2011.
NPS Superintendent Dr. Joe Siano said he was pleased with the robust pool of candidates from within and outside Oklahoma for both positions and was excited by the ideas and passion both Liesenfeld and Williams would bring to their new jobs.
Liesenfeld replaces Bryan Young, who left Norman North to pursue a legal career.
Annette Williams replaces Pam Charlson, who accepted a position in Chickasha.
Liesenfeld grew up in Norman and has worked his entire 14-year career in his hometown.
Williams has had a 29-year career that has included service to Putnam City, Choctaw and Harrah public schools.
As a result of tonight’s announcement, NPS immediately will post the position of Longfellow principal and plans to name Liesenfeld’s replacement before the start of the 2014-15 school year.
