NORMAN — Firefighters responded to a structure fire Sunday just before 9:30 p.m. in central Purcell.
The fire was called in at 425 West Adams Street, near State Highway 39 and Highway 77. Purcell fire crews requested traffic control while they extinguished the blaze.
Dispatch indicated during the initial call that the roof of the structure was fully involved.
When firefighters arrived on scene, scanner traffic indicated they were trying to protect another structure to the west in addition to the fire they were trying to extinguish.
Fire crews called for a brush truck to help watch the embers from the fire that were flying to the west.
Around 10 p.m. the fire department requested contact with the State Fire Marshall through dispatch. Fire also requested a police officer to take a report.
