NORMAN — The featured speaker at Friday’s Tyner Cornbread and Beans Luncheon will be State Rep. Richard Morrissette.
Rep. Morrissette will speak on the importance of Oklahoma working people. The event will be held at Catering Creations, 3750 W. Main St. and is sponsored by the Cleveland County Democratic Party.
Morrissette represents House District 92 in the Oklahoma house of representatives. A native of Rochester, N. Ham., he earned his bachelors in political science and economics from the University of New Hampshire. He also served in New Hampshire’s state Legislature for five years before leaving to accept a scholarship to the University of Tulsa Law School.
Upon earning his J.D. in Oklahoma, Morrissette accepted a job at the State Capitol working for then State Sen. Gene Stipe. He has since opened his own law practice and was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2004.
Lunch begins at 11:15 a.m., with the speaker beginning about noon. Attendees will dine from Catering Creations’ mini buffet. The meeting is open to the public.
