Election board announces promotions and new hire

NORMAN — The Cleveland County Election Board announced several staff changes that took effect July 1, County Election Board Secretary Jim Williams said.

Two employees were promoted to coordinator positions, and one new administrative assistant has been hired by the agency.

Tricia Rittenhouse has been promoted to customer service and data coordinator, a new position recently created at the election board. Rittenhouse will provide press releases and other information to the media, candidates and voters.

She will also oversee the agency website and social media sites.

“The new full-time position reflects a renewed dedication to customer service and voter outreach,” Williams said. “And this is a well-deserved promotion for Tricia. Her excellent customer service skills and great creativity will be evident to all Cleveland County voters.”

Susan Vis has been promoted to absentee voting coordinator. She will supervise all absentee voting activities such as processing absentee requests, mailing absentee ballots, corresponding with military voters and administering early voting. She has worked as an administrative assistant in the absentee department since October.

“Absentee voting is a big part of our election system, and I know that Susan will take the responsibility very seriously,” Williams said.

Trey Gaylord recently was hired as an administrative assistant. His primary role is to serve as the “front-line” customer service representative, answering and directing agency calls and assisting walk-in customers. He spent some time working for the election board, assisting through the last General Election.

The county election board maintains all voter records for Cleveland County and administers elections according to instructions from the Oklahoma State Election Board. Cleveland County is the third largest county in the state, behind Tulsa and Oklahoma counties.
