Norman Chamber of Commerce members support projects

NORMAN — More than $17 million worth of commercial construction projects were detailed as part of Monday’s Norman Chamber of Commerce board meeting packet.

It was the first meeting for new board chairman Mike Fowler. The 11 permitted projects included a $7.5 million renovation of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house, 800 Chautauqua Ave.; $4.75 million Madison Square, 480 24th Ave. NW; a $1.833 million Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market at 2551 Classen Blvd.; a $800,000 telephone company project at 101 S. Webster Ave.; a $750,000 project for Precision Builders at 1120 N. Flood Ave.; and a $400,000 Taco Bueno at 251 12th Ave. SE.

Chamber members, in a retreat before the board meeting, reviewed a series of Norman Forward quality-of-life projects. During the meeting, they voted to support the projects.
