NORMAN — A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday for Leo Whinery Sr., University of Oklahoma College of Law professor emeritus, who died Sunday.
Private graveside services also are planned with Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Following Saturday’s service, a reception will follow in the OU College of Law atrium.
Whinery, 86, taught at OU for more than 40 years, joining the OU faculty in 1959 and retiring from full-time status in 2003. He taught courses on evidence and forensic evidence. He also was presiding judge with the Norman Municipal Criminal Court from 1960 to 1978.
A scholarship fund has been established at the OU College of Law in Whinery’s name.
