Family Fun event planned

NORMAN — A Family Fun event is planned for Sept. 21 at Slaughterville Baptist Church, 60th and Highway 77, with free food and prizes.

The event is being presented by Slaughterville Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Noble, First Baptist Church Little Axe, First Baptist Church Lexington and Maguire Baptist Church.

An African safari with Paige Patterson will be offered as well as other events including a log throw, kids’ archery, hatchet throw, learn to trap, build a box trap, daisy BB gun range, casing and a moon bounce.

The event is free to the public. Registration is at 10 a.m. and lunch at 11 a.m. Prizes will be presented at 12:30 p.m., followed by a pig-in-a-barrel contest at 1:30 p.m., wherein three-person teams will compete for a prize of $100 for each team member.

Many community businesses have come together to sponsor the event, including Triple C Archery, KP Plumbing, Purcell Coin Shop, D&D Enterprises, Mallory Construction, Rollins Construction, Rusty Sullivan Co.
