Pam Hall is the Regional Customer Development Manager for Oklahoma Natural Gas, which partners with builders to provide clean energy options. Hall helps builders who want to construct energy-efficient, environmentally friendly homes through the utility provider’s “One in Energy” Program.
“We have a lot of customers that are asking for that home-fueling system,” Hall said, noting the overnight charging station that sits on the wall of the home’s garage. “Some builders are doing it and it’s probably an application you see more in high-end homes. We’re not seeing a builder do them in all of his houses, but there is a tremendous amount of interest.”
That’s what Reeves believes and he’s hoping the feedback on the concept home will help push his company even further along the road in the amount of green amenities it can offer consumers.
“Every time we build one of our concept homes, we learn things and get to experience doing different things,” Reeves said. “We do quite a bit of (natural gas amenities) for people but we like to have a model. I think people would want to take advantage of this.”
Priced in the $700,000s, the 4,073-square-foot home features four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The upstairs showcases a theater room and separate recreation room.
The model home is open Thursday through Monday, 1 to 6 p.m. except on Saturdays when visitors are welcome from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The open house runs through the end of the year.
