NOBLE — Noble fire Department responded to an emergency call at 6551 164th St. Saturday afternoon where a man was injured in an elevator accident and was evacuated in a helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Major Bob Hall described the elevator as homemade.

“Our understanding is, he was inside the elevator when it dropped. The cable broke and the elevator fell,” Hall said.

The patient was flown to OU Medical Center after being treated at the scene by Noble Fire Department personnel. Noble Fire Department did not release the man’s name and no further information on his condition was available as of press time.

Cedar County Volunteer Fire Department set a landing zone on Etowah Road, east of 156th Street in preparation for the medical evacuation helicopter. Chief Harlan Fipps directed the in and out of the landing zone after the patient was loaded.
