NORMAN — The Norman Firehouse Art Center is inviting local chefs, restaurateurs and chocolate artists to participate in its 31st annual fundraiser “The Chocolate Festival.”
The festival, scheduled for Feb. 2, raises funds for the center while celebrating the tradition of enjoying chocolate samples in honor of supporting arts education.
Participants will support the Firehouse art programs while marketing their businesses to the community. Vendor applications, available on the Firehouse website, www.normanfirehouse.com, will be accepted until Nov. 30.
The event will be at the National Center for Employee Development. The festival was voted “Best Local Festival” in the 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards; “Best Charity Event” in 2011 from Oklahoma Magazine; was featured in Southern Living magazine; and won the 2009 Frontier Country Grand Award for Outstanding Food Festival in Central Oklahoma. It has been ranked third among food festivals in the U.S. by the Food Network and was featured on their festival show.
As the only fundraising event for the Firehouse Art Center, all proceeds from ticket sales support children’s art education programs and art exhibitions.
